Radio Forest — Support

Radio Forest is an internet radio player for exploring music by genre: pick a genre down to its branches, and the stations playing it are ready to play.

Getting started

Open Tune and tick a genre (open it with the arrow to choose sub-genres such as Bebop or Soul Jazz). Then open Stations and tap one. The globe button shows the same stations on a map; the gear opens Settings.

Common questions

A station won't play. Some broadcasters go offline or change their stream address. Radio Forest tries once more, then shows a message; pick another station, or try again later.

Stations take a moment on mobile data. By default the app keeps stations ready only on Wi-Fi, to save your data. You can change that in Settings › When to Buffer.

"Showing saved stations." The station directory could not be reached, so the app is showing the last list it saved. It retries when your connection changes. Settings › Diagnostics › Network transactions shows why a request failed.

Rewind isn't available. Rewind works within audio the app has already buffered for that station; a station you have just started has little to rewind yet, and some stream types can only be played live.

Where are my votes and taste kept? On your device, and in your own iCloud or computer backup of it. Settings has buttons to clear them.

Station owners

Radio Forest lists stations from Radio Browser (radio-browser.info), an open community directory, and plays each stream straight from your own server. To have your station hidden in Radio Forest, or to correct a listing, email us with the station's name and stream address. Listeners can also hide any station in the app (station menu › Hide This Station).
